Good morning, Misfiteers!
Since it's the start of the holiday season, I thought we'd talk about family. So tell me: did your grandma bring her special orange-and-cool whip salad to Thanksgiving this year?
No, wait. That's not what I wanted to talk about. I wanted to talk about family in YA books. That's right.
My book, THE CONSPIRACY OF US, explores a lot of family issues. Avery deals with wanting a family she doesn't have, just how far she'd go to be part of her family, what family really means.
I've also read some great family books lately, like I'LL GIVE YOU THE SUN, which is a lovely, moving portrait of a sibling relationship.
So my question to you today is: What are some of your favorite depictions of family in YA? Why?
