Monday Pep Rally: Learning from Others

Since we've all gotten so used to getting our thoughts down in 140 characters - and it's fun to keep the conversation flowing - we've take the Pep Rally to twitter! Every Monday, we host a twitter chat and we'd love you to join in. Just keep an eye out for the #MisfitPepRally hashtag!

I spent last week in Florida at a conference for my day job. But I actually  found a lot of similarities between my writing  job and the day job, and the change that’s overtaking both of them. I loved learning about new technologies and theories, new ideas, and hearing how other people handle similar challenges. It always inspires me and makes my own ideas more creative. It’s great when hearing about how someone else handled something, and it sparks an idea on how to make that work in your own situation.

I’ve never been able to attend a writing conference in person, but I can see where they’d be so inspiriting, and have the same kind of effect. So since I can’t attend a writing conference this year, what have YOU learned from other writers, either at a conference, or online?

Head on over to twitter and use the #MisfitPepRally hashtag to share your tips!

I've learned that we all suffer the same insecurities and worries. I tend to self-sabotage time I set aside for writing, and apparently, so do many others. Since writing is ultimately a solitary experience, it's good to know that I'm not the only one struggling with these types of issues.
