Monday Pep Rally: What Are Your Favorite Fictional Schools?

If you'll recall, we've changed up our format a little bit for these posts. Because we've all gotten so used to getting our thoughts down in 140 characters, we're taking the discussion to twitter! Every Monday, we'll be talking about our Pep Rally question on twitter and we'd love you to join in. Just keep an eye out for the #MisfitPepRally hashtag!

Now that it's mid-September, I think everyone's FINALLY back to school! (I understand that the Jewish holidays being so early messed up the start date for lots of people, sorry about that. Ahem.)

For us Young Adult writers, there are few things more awesome than an exquisitely drawn high school setting. Everything has to be just right, from the hallways to the lockers to the school guidance counselor, to create a believable backdrop for all the amazing drama and angst that we're so DYING to see.

The best thing about an awesome high school setting is that it's so MEMORABLE. Take a look at this and try not to giggle:

And check out this image: those pillars! The Quad! The walkway! Surreal and unrealistic and absolutely PERFECT for Clueless.

A Young Adult lit fave of mine is the boarding school in ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS. Stephanie Perkins did such an awesome job describing a totally unique and seamless backdrop for one of the best YA love stories out there.

So, what about you all? What are YOUR favorite Young Adult High School settings?
