Monday Pep Rally: Emotional Hangover books

If you'll recall, we've changed up our format a little bit for these posts. Because we've all gotten so used to getting our thoughts down in 140 characters, we're taking the discussion to twitter! Every Monday, we'll be talking about our Pep Rally question on twitter and we'd love you to join in. Just keep an eye out for the #MisfitPepRally hashtag!

Hi Misfiteers!

There are times in my life when I read a book so emotional and just gets me THERE, you know which ones. A FAULT IN OUR STARS by John Green is a big one for me. These are the books that make me crave reading more, but happier stuff. Kind of like a cure for the emotional hangover.

My fave cure books are: Anything by Stephanie Perkins or Jennifer Echols. I tend to go for the contemporary romances to cure my emotional hangovers. Stories that aren't necessarily cheery but that I know will have some type of HEA.

I'll also note that I do this for TV shows too. If I watch a particularly sad movie: Terms of Endearment or A Walk To Remember,  for example. I need to watch an episode of Friends or The Big Bang Theory.

What about you? What books cure your emotional hangovers? Do you need them?

Come let us know! Join the conversation at #MisfitPepRally

I go with rereads to get over book hangovers, too. The Prisoner of Azkaban or Audrey, Wait! usually do the trick. :)
